Congratulations to one of the most kind people in hospitality, Ms. Angie Detter of Residence Inn St. Louis Downtown. She is an exact embodiment of Schultz’s core values and culture as well as an excellent team member. One of Schulte’s own executives had this to share about his personal experience with this winner:
“I stayed at this hotel for a couple of days last March, the first morning, I went down to breakfast and watched this individual in action. In my 30+ years in the industry, I have never seen someone who truly engaged with their customers – and the customers engage with them– quite like this winner. She welcomed most guests by name, while taking a moment to chat and inquire about the children, many whom were staying at the hotel for 1 – 2 weeks while going through surgeries or other medical procedures at a nearby hospital. The breakfast area had a certain vibe about it that you don’t normally see at a comp breakfast, and I wholeheartedly attribute this to this winner’s other whose children were also there for medical purposes. If she didn’t give you a hug when you came down for breakfast, you got a hug before you left. I should know as I was a recipient. The next morning she greeted me by name…and a hug.”
